I focus on the relationship between Stanley and Blanche. Blanche's arrival to Elysian Fields creates an oscillation of power between the two genders and we see this through Stanley and Blanche. Blanche begins to emasculate Stanley in his own household and so he is forced to regain and re-establish his masculinity through sexual violence. I track 3 key scenes where we see Stanley lose his masculinity, Blanche gains it, and then Stanley is able to regain it through sexual domination.
