Businesses need to make sure that they are managing their departments appropriately to improve
their business to success. This is so that the business can make a proft and have an efcient system
within the business.

Making sure that all employees are happy and working well is a way a business, Urban Clothing, for
instance, can value their workers. This is a way a business manages the human resources
department. As making sure that employees are happy will mean that employees will work harder
and beter leading that business to success. Urban Clothingss management for the human resource
would aim to go in that path as employing employees is very costly. There would the process of
interviewing, training and once on the job, Urban Clothing will start paying the employee. All of
which add up to be very costly. So, what businesses like Urban Clothing do is try to keep as many
employees as they can to minimise the cost of recruitng. Therefore, management of the human
resources to keep their employees, keep them happy, give them a good environment to work in and
pay a good enough salary so that the businesses workforce can be efcient. All businesses including
Urban Clothing, aim to maximise their proft, so going through the process of getng new employees
reduces the amount of proft they make. Having good recruitment and selecton process will help to
recruit the right people in the right place.
Training is another thing Urban Clothing and other businesses need to manage to be successful. For
example, if Urban Clothing does not train their employees, nothing can be done on tme or

For my business, I will also need to manage my human resources efciently. For example, I can’t
treat my staf badly, as they won’t like it and will leave my business. The word may go around about
the treatment of employees in my business, and it can reduce applicants. With professional and
good treatment towards my staf, I will be able to keep them for a longer period and may also atract
new applicants.

The physical resources of a business, such as Urban Clothing, will need to be managed professionally
to progress the businesses performance in every way. For example, Urban Clothing buildings and
facilites need to be maintained to save money, as if Urban Clothing use their equipment and
facilites inefciently, they can ruin the equipment and may have to pay to repair or replace as it
complies with health and safety policy. This would mean a lower capital to Urban Clothing as they
