1 GEZONDHEIDSEDUCATIE1.1 DEFINITIE GEZONDHEID
Gezondheid = toestand van een zo optimaal mogelijk fysiek, mentaal en sociaal welbevinden, waarbij iedereen de kans
moet hebben om als mens capaciteiten te ontwikkelen en te gebruiken met een maximaal aantal vrijheidsgraden en
keuzemogelijkheden.
Welbevinden heeft betrekking op :
Lichamelijke gezondheid
Psychische gezondheid
Sociale gezondheid
Kritische bedenkingen bij de definitie :
WHO : gezonde persoon is iemand die zich zowel lichamelijk, geestelijk als in sociaal opzicht lekker in zijn vel voelt.
Wie bepaald dat? Wat met iemand die een functiebeperking heeft? Iemand die heel de tijd ruzie heeft?
Of iemand gezond is wordt bepaald door de verschillende waarden en normen die voor iedereen anders zijn.
Gezondheid is een individueel aanvoelen, niet altijd objectief waarneembaar.
Gezondheid is een streefdoel.
Gezondheid heeft een dynamisch karakter. (= elke dag letten op wat we eten)
Gezondheid is een proces waar we voortdurend veranderingen in aanbrengen en dat we proberen te verbeteren.
1.2 FACTOREN DIE ONZE LICHAMELIJKE GEZONDHEID BEÏNVLOEDEN
De leeftijd die de Belg bereikt is hoog.
Toch is het met onze lichamelijke gezondheid niet helemaal in orde :
Slepende ziekte hoge dokterskosten
Laag inkomen doktersbezoek lang uitstellen
Financiering v/d ziekteverzekering blijvend aandachtspunt voor minister van sociale zaken
Sommige ziekten moeten multidisciplinair behandeld worden
Arts kan niet van alle ziekten de oorzaak geven
Geneesmiddelengebruik ligt hoog in België
Gezondheid van mensen wordt bepaald door :
Persoonlijke kenmerken die we bij de geboorte hebben meegekregen
Leefomgeving
Gezondheidszorg
Sociaal-economische achtergrond (maatschappij en financiële positie)
Gedrag (gewoonten en leefstijl)

GEZONDHEIDSEDUCATIE (KLAS)
Gezondheidseducatie of gezondheidsopvoeding = stimuleren om bewuste en verantwoorde gedragingen, houdingen en
vaardigheden te ontwikkelen en te integreren in het dagelijks leven.
Doel : gezond gedrag bevorderen kennis, inzicht en vaardigheden
