Target market
The target market is the specific audience in which the business wants to attract. They must fit the
demographic of wants and needs to suit the businesses products. The business can then plan its
business goings on around them and use marketing, brand loyalty programmes and other marketing
methods to enable customer retention.
Target market of charger lockers
The target market of my microbusiness will stretch from the younger secondary school children
(aged 11) all the way up to the sixth form students (aged 18). This is because the lockers will be in
school so it is easy access for the students to use them. Customers are also likely to be people who
forget/do not have their chargers with them which is students instead of adults.
Age: 11–16-year-olds are my target audience as usually the older customers will have their chargers
with them as the more ‘responsible’ type of people. However, the target audience will not be limited
to just 11-16 as adults/school staff will also be able to use the lockers as its on-site available to
anyone in the building.
Gender: gender is not applicable to my business as the charger lockers are universal and will be
available for any of the students/staff/visitors to use.
Income: any level of income may use the charger lockers because although someone with low
income might not have a lot of money, it still depends on how the chose to spend it. For example,
there might be an emergency where they need their phone charged for some reason so they would
opt to charge their phone with the charger lockers as it is something that could depend on situation.
Primary research
Primary research will be carried out by using various methods. The first method will be to send out
an email to the whole school collectively offering a survey to work out pricing methods, location
choices and charger types that are required.
