As a response to the poster presentation, the tutor advised that the incorporation of Butler’s (1997) notion of ‘performance’ and Youdell’s (2005) ‘performative habitus’ would be useful in explaining the high attainment of British Chinese pupils. Whilst both ‘performativity’ and ‘habitus’ were briefly acknowledged individually in the poster presentation, the correlation between the two was not.
