For the course Dynamics in the Leisure Sector, I wrote a paper about a leisure policy (hearing loss at festivals). It examines in what way high sound levels can significantly influence the participation in music festivals. The paper concludes by saying that an intervention is needed, since it is assumed that the problem is likely to receive more attention in the future due to the healthier lifestyle of people and the cooperation of local authorities with public-private partnerships.
The take home exam for the course Philosophy of Imagineering (BUAS Breda) exists of 4 essay questions and elaborated answers. Questions are about the postmodern experience, storytelling, social innovation, social science and leisure science (definitions and demarcations).
In the last statistics course of the ILS program at BUAS, I got familiar with the more advanced statistics. A broad overview over a range of correlational and experimental data analysis techniques was provided including an introduction into factor analysis, reliability, chi-square and binary logistic regression, ANOVA, ANCOVA, factorial ANOVA and ANOVA for repeated measures. All lectures and personal notes are summarized in this document.
During Research Methods 3 (bachelor course ILS - BUAS Breda) we dived more into the quantitative research methods and statistics for survey research. We got more knowledge about the questionnaire design and bivariate statistics. A lot of different analyses were covered including simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, dummy coding, moderation analysis, mediation analysis, reliability analysis and t-tests. Next to that the corresponding assumptions were discussed.
