This summary describes the statistical approach to ecology. First, ecology is defined from a historic point to a more holistic point. Data sampling designs, as well as data collection in different terrains, are discussed. Additionally, data analysis and statistical testing (e.g. Normal distribution, Kolmogorov-Smirnoff-test, Chi Square test, ANOVA) are part of this section. Finally, the calculation of diversity is summarised.
