Here is a complete set of organised notes for Lectures 1-8 of BIOC0005 Molecular Biology. This course is taken by UCL year 2 students studying Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and other Life Sciences degrees. I received first honours and was on the Dean's list, in which my main study method was by making complete notes of each lecture. Lectures 1 to 8 covers fundamentals of RNA/DNA/proteins, molecular biology tools and techniques, plasmids, and operons and regulons.

The Hippocampus & Spatial Cognition (Lecture 3 of 16 in NEUR0014: Neural Basis of Motivation and Learning) Thorough review of the hippocampus as it relates to spatial cognition, including place cells, head-direction cells and grid cells.

Basal Ganglia (Lecture 10 of 16 in NEUR0014: Neural Basis of Motivation and Learning) Thorough review of the basal ganglia as it relates to learning of behaviours. Traditionally thought to support procedural learning (i.e. habit formation), more recent research supports the basal ganglia to play a role in both goal-oriented (dorso-medial striatum) and habitual (dorso-lateral striatum) behaviour.
