, Exercise 2.1
Recreational drugs
The problem analysis consists of 6 guiding questions. In order to answer these questions, we
need (scientific) sources. There are a number of different research institutes in the
Netherlands that publish research reports containing statistical data. In this exercise we use
the statistical data provided by the CBS (Central Bureau for Statistics) and the Trimbos
Institute about recreational drug use.
The Dutch government has expressed its concern about the use of drugs by the younger
generation. The Trimbos Institute has written a report that examines the validity of those
concerns.
