This book evolved from a course in molecular biology which I have been teaching primarily to graduate students for the past twenty years. Because the subject is now mature, it is possible to present the material by covering the principles and encouraging students to learn how to apply them. Such an approach is particularly efficient as the subject of molecular genetics now is far too advanced, large, and complex for much value to come from attempting to cover the material in an encyclopedia-like...

Chemical bonding is a key concept in chemistry that describes how atoms interact and form compounds. According to the NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) syllabus, chemical bonding typically covers: 1. **Types of Chemical Bonds:** - **Ionic Bonds:** Formed when electrons are transferred from one atom to another, creating ions that attract each other. Example: Sodium chloride (NaCl). - **Covalent Bonds:** Formed when atoms share electrons to achieve stability....

In the NCERT Chemistry curriculum, polymers are discussed in the context of organic chemistry. Here’s a description based on the NCERT textbook: 1. **Definition**: Polymers are large molecules made up of repeating subunits called monomers. They are formed through polymerization. 2. **Polymerization**: - **Addition Polymerization**: This process involves the addition of monomers with unsaturated bonds to form a polymer without the loss of any small molecules. Examples include the poly...
