In section 2, the mental health issues- depression in the elderly population were

identified, and an education and awareness campaign were suggested or proposed as an

effective intervention. This evaluation plan adapts the CDC's Framework for Program

Evaluation in Public Health, established in 1999, to guide the effective implementation of

programs, ensuring effective decision-making and program improvement. The evaluation

plan is guided by four principles: accuracy, utility, propriety and feasibility, alongside other

standards and steps.

with the stakeholders. These are among the most crucial resources for the program and

should be consulted for different reasons, including accountability, interpretation of

transferability. The second step is describing the program. This entails providing a

comprehensive overview of the program and the evaluation process, including what can and

cannot be evaluated, as well as the purpose of the evaluation (Centres for Disease Control and

Prevention, 2024). The third step is focusing on the evaluation design. This step involves

understanding the rationale for prioritizing the evaluation questions to ensure transparency

and accepting the evaluation outcomes.

The fourth step is gathering credible evidence. This includes investigating the methods

used to ensure that appropriate information is collected and evaluated. It also ensures that the

questions asked are plausible and the collected data is acceptable. The fifth step is making

and justifying the conclusions (Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, 2024). This
