Learning Objective(s):
By the end of the lesson, 2nd grade students will be able to identify and count coins (pennies, nickels, dimes, and
quarters) and one-dollar bills, and combine their values to find the total amount of money up to $5 with 90% accuracy.
Assessment
Summative
Students will take a final test that will ask them five money counting questions. The summative
assessment will include a bonus question to challenge those students who are excelling. The summative
assessment will be a google doc that will automatically save their answers.
Formative
Students will be asked to participate in interactive online games that will help them count money. I will be able to
track their participation through the game site to determine the students participation and success with counting
money. I will also include a short poll to ask students how they did and how confident they are before taking the
summative assessment.
