TASK 2: Evaluates Learning Technology
Learning Technology – D294
TASK 2: Evaluates Learning Technology
Student Learning Goal: Students will be able to explain the events that led to the American
Revolution in a timeline, project-based assessment.
I. Learning Technology Tool- Prezi: to deliver new content information to students: Prezi is
used to create presentations similar to that of Microsoft PowerPoint, however, it is
accessible through a web browser and is free to users. The presentations are more vibrant
and engaging, giving educators the ability to create unique presentations for content
delivery. Students can access teacher-created content on Prezi through many devices,
such as a Chromebook, iPad, or cellular device.
a. Students will be engaged in learning about the events that led to the
American Revolution with a teacher-led presentation created on Prezi. To
begin the lesson, the instructor will broadcast the Prezi to students'
Chromebook or devices, so they may follow along. The first activity will
include the use of VTS (Visual Thinking Strategies) by showing students a
painting from the American Revolution. The instructor follows up by asking
students what they see in the picture.
b. Prezi helps to promote deeper learning by allowing educators to create and
engage students with content in exciting and new ways. With the use of
Prezi’s technology, it allows the instructor to zoom in on specific details
within the painting to have students focus on areas and respond with their
, 2
findings. Students learn by seeing, thinking, and responding to the instructor
regarding an art piece while building critical thinking skills and
collaborating with their peers. Students can respond and build off of each
other's observations and assumptions found within the art piece without
knowing the history or curriculum they are about to engage in.
c. With Prezi, students with learning differences can participate and engage
with the program from any device as well as from the classroom board.
Presentations created by educators can be accessed anytime and anywhere,
including offline. Students who are visual learners will be able to follow
along with incredible images, videos, and text. Audio learners can listen to
recorded videos and notes made by the instructor.
d. Prezi can be shared and linked to students through Google Classroom,
Schoology, and used within the classroom as needed. Prezi offers several
plans for additional features, including those for educators and businesses.
This includes the ability to track progress with a class and recording audio
for your presentations. More recently, Prezi has added the AI feature for
assisting content-creating for more engaging presentations and delivery.
II. Learning Technology Tool- Edpuzzle: to reinforce new content for students and provide
additional visual learning. Edpuzzle uses videos to help supplement teaching and make it
more interactive for students during their learning.
a. Students will watch a video about the causes that led to the American
Revolution. Students will have a personalized set of questions tailored to the
video created by the teacher to engage students in their learning and
understanding. Students will be given questions during the video that will
help them reach their learning goals.
b. Edpuzzle allows teachers to input multiple-choice questions as well as open-
ended questions during their lesson. Open-ended questions included in
Edpuzzle will allow the teacher to ask higher-order questions in order to
develop deeper explanations from students. These open-ended questions
help to prevent confusion and align with the learning goals set by the
teacher.
c. As students are assigned with their own accounts within Edpuzzle, which
allows them to complete the assignment at their own pace. Students with
accommodations or learning disabilities can be provided with modified
