EDUC 181 FINAL LATEST UPDATE GRADED A+ What is the focus of the work done by CFLEs? Family life education is about teaching the skills & knowledge needed to avoid falling into the river & about knowing how to help yourself if you do. Indirect Assessment indirectly identifying the needs, cultural values, interests, goals, and future needs of target groups can be helpful when planning an FLE program. Information gleaned from the literature review and demographic information can be helpful. In addition, discussions with an advisory board can also serve as indirect assessments. Direct Assessment directly identifying needs, cultural values, interests, goals, and future needs of a target group is also an important part of the process and helps the FLE designer understand what they are identifying or feel are important to reaching their goals. FLEs may approach direct assessments as researchers. What are the main components of a FLE program? (1) Individuals and Families in Societal Contexts (2) Internal Dynamics of Families (3) Human Growth & Development over the Life Span (4) Human Sexuality (5) Interpersonal Relationships (6) Family Resource Management (7) Parent Education (8) Family Law and Public Policy (9) Professional Ethics and Practice (10) FLE Methodology The CFLE Code of Ethics is broken up into 4 areas. What are these 4 areas? Staying current and preparing for the program. Indirect and direct assessments. Creating a vision, goals, objectives, outcomes, and impacts. Planning and implementing a welcome session, three core sessions, and a goodbye session, and processing and evaluating questions. What is a personal FLE philosophy and how is this philosophy developed? An FLE philosophy develops over time and is never in a final state. The personal philosophy is a direction but there is always the possibility of considering alternate routes as an FLE continues to travel. Vision statement can convey what the dreams and desires for the program include. Goals of a program are more specific than a vision and convey a general purpose. Objectives are more specific than goals and objectives are often written in measurable terms. Outcomes are the benefits or changes in participants during or after participation in a FLE program. It is sometimes helpful to think about initial outcomes, intermediate outcomes, or longer-term outcomes Why is becoming a Certified Family Life Educator worthwhile for professionals in the field? Rewarding Helping people
