At first, the focus of the assignment lies in the internal and external analysis of the hotel. Using the information gained from the analyses, a TOWS matrix was created which showed different areas of improvement. From this an innovation idea was created as well as an implementation plan. Further, a detailed business case was developed which gives financial information regarding the investment. Beyond, the innovation for the hotel is to build bungalows on the space owned by Westcord which directly lies next to the already existing hotel and is currently not used.

, PREFACE
The partner hotel report is part of the unit 1 assignment of the second-year hospitality operations environment
module. The report is based on the Westcord Hotel Noordsee on the Dutch island of Ameland.
The focus of the assignment is the internal and external analysis of the hotel and the development of an
innovation by the students.
As well as writing the assignment, the students pitched their idea to the management of the hotel and created
a comprehensive presentation which was given to the tutors of the module.
Moreover, the students would like to take this opportunity to thank the Westcord Hotel Noordsee for providing
all necessary information in a well-organized tour of the hotel as well as giving substantial feedback during the
pitch.
