Chapter 4 is about understand what it means to perceive others. In the file you will see some vocab words and the break down of different topics. For example, the physiological, psychological,and social influences on our perception.

At the top of this document it you will see a list of different way to communicate with someone nonverbally; this goes with chapter 6. Underneath that you will see the notes for chapter 2 which deal with culture and interpersonal communication. The main point is to understand the codes and culture of communication and you will see that they are listed there for you.

In this file is the rest of the chapter 5 summary; which is the sexism/racism and precision/vagueness notes. The rest of the notes in the file are referencing chapter 6 which is about nonverbal communication. You will see an example of how nonverbal communication can be different in other countries or cultures. Following that you will see the functions of nonverbal communication.

Chapter 5 talked about language; the file that you will see is a summary of the chapter. The chapter 6 file also has more parts of the summary as well. In this file however, you will see "Thought of Reference" diagram which shows how when we recognize a word how the symbol and our personal reference makes the word make sense. The impact of language is mentioned as well as a few vocab words. I hope this helps you!
