This is the essay that I submitted as part of the assessment for the module 'Crime Law and History' in which I got a mark of 75. The essay covers some of the evidence that violence has been in decline since the medieval period using murder statistics from a variety of sources. It then goes on to speculate on the reasons for this decline, drawing on some of the key academic commentary in this area. The essay is well referenced and received extremely positive feedback from my Professor.
