Reflection on micro-organizational behaviour
Management is a unique course that helped me to examine and understand the basics
in the empirical research and theory in the field of micro-organizational behaviour. It also
helped me to understand the people’s behaviour in an organization. To investigate how
organizational structures, affect human behaviour within an organization, organizational
behaviour as the field of study focusses on that. When I talk about micro-organizational
behaviour, I refer to group and individual dynamics in an organizational setting. Various
concepts including job satisfaction, motivation, team building, decision making and
leadership comprises some of the facets of organizational behaviour. This study will reflect
on topics covered in the course. These topics include foundations of employee motivations,
the individual behaviour, personality and values and the third one will be the applied
performances practices. The study will further explore one or two theories in reflection of
every selected topic. In this reflective study, I will apply the theories to examine my strengths
and blind spots. I will also use the theories to evaluate and examine how I understand, relate
and work with others. Through the reflective study, I will discuss the lessons I have learnt
regarding my leadership style, personality, working in a team, my approach to conflict,
communication and multi-cultural awareness.

Judge, 2007). Additionally, in this topic I was able to distinguish the concept needs and
drives. I came to understand that drives are the prime movers of behaviour by activating
emotions. They form the neutral states that give individuals the energy to maintain internal
