The examiner shines light into the patients eye and observes the reflection off the
patients retina.
Ophthalmascope - Correct answer-instrument for examining the eye. It inspects the
internal structure and checks for overall retinal health.

Used to diagnose glaucoma.

DFE - Correct answer-Dilated Fundus Exam. When dilation is performed. DFE is
typically covered by most vision insurances.
Retinal Imaging - Correct answer-produce image of almost entire retina without
having to dilate the pupils. It checks the retina more thoroughly. Doctors can detect
any tears holes or bleeding. Not typically covered by most vision insurances.
Comprehensive Exam - Correct answer-It includes AT MINIMUM DFE.
Sometimes visual fields, tonometer and color perception.
