A. Summarize the real-world business situation identified in task 1.
As identified in Task 1, Scientific Games, which is a Lottery service provider, is trying to
determine which solid state hard drive (SSD) would perform better in their new Lottery
Terminal. Performance is measured by effective speed index, which is how an SSD performs
under typical user workload. The first drive that is being considered is a Samsung 870 QVO
2TB drive, model number MZ-77Q2T0B. The second drive is a Western Digital Blue 3D 2TB
drive, model number WDS200T2B0A. Both SSDs have been tested within the new Lottery
terminal, are similar in price, and are adequately available from their preferred supplier.
B1. Describe the relevant data you collected.
Data has been gathered using UserBenchMark.com, where users have provided benchmark
results based on typical usage. I have chosen 30 random user benchmark results for the Samsung
870 QVO 2TB (MZ-77Q2T0B) Solid State Drive, and 30 random user benchmark results for the
Western Digital Blue 3D 2TB (WDS200T2B0A) Solid State Drive. The benchmark results
indicate the effective speed index, which determines how well an SSD performs under typical
consumer workloads. The higher the index percentage, the higher the performance of the SSD.
