- Memory: Up to 24 tb per host server and up to 12 terabytes per vm
- VHDX size up to 64tb
- VM’s up to 1024 per host server
- VM Processors up to 240 per vm

First you need to choose a OSE that matches your preferences then you need to install the type of
installation (desktop, core or nano).

OSE = Operating system environment

- Windows Server 2016 standard – Allows two OSEs, lacks features from datacenter
- Windows Server 2016 Datacenter – Unlimited OSEs or Hyper-V containers
- Windows Server 2016 Essentials – One OSe, maximum 25 users and 50 devices
- Windows Server 2016 MultiPoint Premium Server – Only academic licensing. Multiple users
access a single server installation
- Windows Storage Server 2016 – Only available through original equipment manufacturer
(OEM) channels.
- Windows Hyper-V Server – Available at no cost. Hosts only VM’s
