Mrs. Kennedy is a 71-year-old female who has been brought in to the emergency department by her daughter, who was visiting her house for lunch and noticed that she seemed confused. Mrs. Kennedy does not have a history of confusion, however, she lives alone and her daughter is concerned that she does not take care of herself. She has a medical history of type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol and she is a smoker. During the visit with her daughter, she had trouble walking and complained of feeling nauseated and dizzy. She told her daughter that she has had the hiccups for the past day but she cannot remember when she started feeling dizzy or ill. Her daughter immediately brought her into the emergency department.
