Assessment 3: Interdisciplinary Plan Proposal
Introduction
This proposal addresses the pressing problem of the rising rates of SSI within our
healthcare organization, especially in surgical departments. Lack of interdisciplinary
collaboration is one of the major causes. The main focus is to improve interdisciplinary
collaboration to reduce the number of SSIs, which will ensure better patient safety and
quality of care.
Objective
The strategy will endeavor to have an elaborate interdisciplinary collaboration
program that intends to reduce the burden of surgical site infections by a great deal. We
predict that nurturing communication, shared decision-making, and collaborative problem-
solving among surgical teams will not only lead to improvements in patient performance but
also enable a more efficient working environment. Achievement in this effort has to be
congruous with the mission of attaining the highest levels of care and patient security for the
whole organization.
Questions and predictions
I. What impact will interdisciplinary collaboration have on the rate of SSIs?
II. What difficulties will we encounter when implementing interdisciplinary
collaboration practices?
III. What will be the impact of this plan on the workload of surgical teams?
The interdisciplinary collaborative plan anticipates a major drop in surgical site
infections (SSIs) by improving communication and decision-making among the surgical
groups. Challenges that should be anticipated include challenges like initial resistance to new
practices and adaptation problems that are likely to decline as the advantages associated with
collaboration become apparent. This could start with a minor increase in the workload of the
