ENPC Assessment check off Exam.
1. Preparation
and Triage -Activate the team and assign roles
-prepare the room with PEDIATRIC equipment
-Don PPE
2. General
Impres- sion
-Assess the Three components of the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT)
and Categorize the patient (sick, sicker,sickest)
3. A : Alertness
and Airway -Assess for uncontrolled Hemorrhage or need to reprioritize C-ABC
-Maintain C-spine stabilization
4. B: Breathing -AVPU (alertness, verbal, pain, Unresponsiveness)
and Ventilation
-Asses airway Patency ( at least four): Fluids, Foreign body, Edema,
Sounds. "FFES"
-Assess breathing ettectiveness (at least four): Skin color, Chest rise, WOB,
Breath sounds
5. C: Circulation and -Assess pulse, skin color/ temperature/ moisture and cap refill. (all three)
Control of Hem- -anticipate goal directed therapy for shock
orrhage
*** Boluses are always warmed Isotonic Crystalloids**
6. D: Disability (Neu- -GCS (eye, verbal, Motor response)
rological Status) -pupils
-obtain blood glucose with any altered mental status
7. E: Exposure
and -Remove all clothing and inspect for obvious signs of illness and injury
Environmental -provide warmth: Blankets, increase room temp
8. F: Full set of -BP, HR, RR, SPO2, Temp, weight in KG
