La Vengeance du Pardon
Eric-Emmanuel SCHMITT

Short summary

Nobody understands Elise’s behaviour any more. She doesn’t— Since her
daughter died, bruised by sadness and loneliness, she goes to the prison and visits
Sam Louis, the serial killer, the murderer of her child.

Neglecting everything, she tries to enter into real contact with this monster who
feels no remorse, she tries to to speak to him, to tame him, to understand him…
By probing him, she probes herself and descends into the depths of the soul.

He himself remains surprised. She insists. She wants to humanize him, to make
him aware of his act. Why? For revenge or forgiveness? Unless it is for revenge
of forgiveness…
