you for this position. currently a full-time student
graduating this spring with a
bachelor's degree in Electrical Engi-
neering. Prior to attending Cal State
LA, I served 5 years in the United
States Navy as a weapon system
technician on a nuclear submarine
stationed in Guam. My respon-
sibilities included the operation,
mainte- nance, and troubleshooting
of crucial elec- trical and mechanical
weapons system in- terfaces,
planning and coordination of key
ship operations, and completion of
ship safety evaluations. Through my
experiences I gained important skills
such as attention to detail, the
ability to work under pres- sure to
meet deadlines, and the impor-
tance of teamwork. As I promoted I
earned the title of Lead Technician
for a division
of 10 personnel and finished my
naval ca- reer as a Second Class
Petty Oflcer. My responsibilities as a
technician is what gen- erated my
interest in Electrical Engineer- ing.
After completing my tour I decided to
return home to earn my
engineering de- gree and gain
practical engineering work
