through because the plasma membrane is polar (thei r charges
are repelled)

Ans: facilitated diffusion - materials diffuse across plasma
membrane with help from membrane bound proteins; uses
glucose, amino acids, and ions.
Proteins shield polar molecules from repulsive forces of
membrane, allowing for diffusion
