Section A: Reflection (Novel – Unit 4)
Prior to taking this module I had read some novels particularly high school.
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe is one novel of the first kind that I liked. I
liked the fact that the novel discusses African culture, colonialism and conflict
that is on inner side of the protagonist, Okonkwo. The pre-colonial Nigeria
setting and the culture shift in the theme were also very great and they helped
me understand African history and identity. Whereas, I have attempted
reading a novel titled Wuthering Heights written by Emily Bront LGBT and was
not pleased. The language was hard to understand and the characters were
unrelatable and that is why it was also not very easy to keep me focused.
