“The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho:
SECTION A: INTRODUCTION
From an early age, I always found comfort and escape in the pages of a good book.
Among all the books I have read, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho stands out as one that
truly shifted my outlook on life. I chose to read this book after a friend recommended it
during a difficult phase of my life, when I was searching for direction and meaning. What
drew me into the story was its simplicity, yet powerful message about personal legend,
dreams, and destiny. As I read about Santiago’s journey from a humble shepherd to a
man who pursued his dream across continents, I felt as though I, too, was on a journey
of self-discovery. The book has had a profound impact on my life, teaching me to listen
to my heart, to embrace the unknown, and to have faith in my path—no matter how
uncertain it may seem.
SECTION B: MAIN CONTENT
One of the most powerful moments in The Alchemist was when Santiago learns that
“when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” This
quote resonated deeply with me and became a source of motivation during a time when
I was uncertain about my career path. I had always wanted to pursue education, but
fear of failure held me back. Reading about Santiago’s courage to follow his dream
despite countless setbacks inspired me to take a bold step and enroll at university. I
related to his inner conflict, the doubts he faced, and the risks he took. Just as Santiago
found signs and omens guiding him, I began to notice positive opportunities and support
around me once I committed to my own path. This turning point helped me overcome
my fear and embrace my passion with confidence and determination.
