.02.03 Prohibitions - ANS-The following activities are prohibited in any full service or
constrained exercise salon or in regard to any salon-sponsored services:
A. The overall performance of services of any type on a purchaser who has an infectious or
contagious disorder that presents a hazard to others;
B. The performance of offerings of any kind through a licensee or registrant who has an
infectious or contagious disorder that affords a chance to customers:
C. The performance of offerings of any type upon the floor of a purchaser's skin, scalp, or
nail where the skin, scalp, or nail is infected or wherein a pores and skin contamination or
eruption is gift unless legal by means of a physician;
D. The removal of corns, calluses, or different growths of the skin, which include warts, with
the aid of reducing;
E. The use of electrical muscle stimulator devices imagined to produce nonsurgical face or
frame lifts;
F. Cosmetic tattooing;
G. The presence of a canine, cat, hen, or any type of animal at the salon premises except for
manual dogs for the blind;
H. The sale of any hairpieces which formerly have been worn inclusive of, however now not
constrained to wigs, toupees, wiglets, falls, and switches;
I. The use or possession of a Credo blade or a similar razor-type implement used to cut
growths at the skin;
J. Unless an character possesses a legitimate and suitable fitness occupation license issued
with the aid of the Maryland Department of Health:
(1) The use of lasers, microdermabrasion gadget, or another mechanical device used to cast
off one or greater layers of pores and skin; and
(2) The use of any product or technique that causes tissue destruction or penetrates the
blood fluid barrier, such as:
(a) Chemical peels; and
(b) Glycolic acids.
, .02.04 Sanitation Requirements - ANS-A. A complete provider splendor salon and a
restrained exercise beauty salon shall comply with the sanitation provisions in §B of this law.
B. Sanitation Provisions.
(1) Every salon will be well lighted, heated, and ventilated, and shall be kept in a clean and
sanitary circumstance.
(2) The partitions, curtains, and ground coverings in a salon will be washed and kept clean.
(3) All salons will be furnished with warm and bloodless going for walks water.
(4) The premises shall be kept unfastened from rodents, vermin, flies, or comparable
insects.
(5) The salon won't be used for drowsing or dwelling quarters.
(6) All hair, nail service debris, cotton, or different waste cloth shall be eliminated from the
floor without delay and deposited in a closed field and removed from the premises
frequently.
(7) Rest rooms shall be saved in a sanitary condition and have a cleaning soap dispenser
and disposable towels.
(eight) All personnel of a salon will be attired in smooth, washable clothes.
(9) The fingers of a licensee or registrant shall be washed earlier than attending every
consumer.
(10) Surgical latex gloves shall be worn if the licensee or registrant has a reduce or open
wound.
(eleven) Implements used in direct contact with a patron will be washed in warm, soapy
water before being immersed in a disinfectant answer as specified in §B(12) of this law.
(12) Implements will be disinfected in a moist sanitizer containing an EPA-registered
disinfectant effective towards HIV and hepatitis viruses, or a hospital-grade tuberculocidal
