The practice of Electrology includes - ANSWER-Health history assessment
Discussion with the patients regarding goals and expectations
Patient education
Development implementation, ongoing evaluation of treatment plan.
Referral to other allied healthcare professionals or appropriate healthcare providers
when indicated
Standard I of basic practice - ANSWER-The electrologist demonstrates professional
skills, knowledge and abilities consistent with current recognized and accepted
professional standards of practice.
Standard II of basic practice - ANSWER-The electrologist assess the health status of
patients
Standard III of basic practice - ANSWER-The expectations and perspectives of the
patient are considered in planning the treatment goals.
Standard IV of basic practice - ANSWER-The electrologist provides the patient with
information relevant to the Electrology process
Standard V of basic practice - ANSWER-A treatment plan is developed based on the
comprehension patient assessments and includes treatment intervention designed to be
consistent with patient goals and desired outcomes.
Standards on practice management - ANSWER-Determine professional responsibilities
and obligations that contribute to sound practice management.
Standard I of practice management - ANSWER-Electrologists maintain an accurate
accounting of business transactions and related matters.
Standards on marketing - ANSWER-To describe basic concepts which may be used to
measure advertising/socialization conduct, and to provide a mechanism for consumer
confidence.
