XYZ Software Development Company has undergone a lengthy process of successes and
a few drawbacks that ultimately hindered the original schedule. The goals and objectives of the
business workflow project were to develop software to assist in the smooth operations of workflows
and processes in various industries all over, to track and maintain data, meet deadlines, stay within
budget, and to collaborate/communicate any changes in tasks, deadlines, or resources throughout. We
had a significant number of team members who contributed to the success of this project, and it is
because of the extra hours and weekends they put in- we were ultimately able to deliver the first
release on schedule. However, we have a few changes that need to be made before the final rollout of
release two can be made.
Release Two
Release two should be more efficient due to being able to learn from the issues we overcame in
release one. For example, part way through release one, we had two team members- a software tester
and a developer, resign from the project. This caused some delays in development as we had to train
the developer’s replacement and catch both new team members up to the project thus far. This may
have been avoidable and we will be adding some strategies to release two- to ensure this same issue
does not happen, or that if it does- we can mitigate the issues effectively.
Release Two Changes in Planning/Strategies
For example, holding regular team meetings to promote more transparency amongst team
members and to ensure that any issues they are facing may be addressed prior to escalation and
resulting in resignation. Also, we will be adding to our communication plan- a designated team member
for the arbitration of any disagreements as well as for any concerns or complaints to be addressed. If
any team member is experiencing burnout they will be encouraged to address their designated
