Task 2 Reflection .

Reflection on Instruction and Student Learning

Using the backward design method greatly impacted how I
approached this lesson. Because I was recording and teaching the
lesson solo, I knew it was important to be intentional and clear in my
planning. I started with the end goal in mind: students being able to
identify the main idea and supporting details from an informational
text. From there, I built the lesson step by step, beginning with a
focused modeling session using a think-aloud strategy.

During the lesson, I monitored clarity by using visual tools like an
anchor chart and a graphic organizer. These resources helped me
break the concept down and guide students visually through the
process. I also made sure to pause and prompt questions

simple rubric to evaluate their responses, focusing on the clarity of
the main idea, the relevance of supporting details, and overall
organization. This assessment directly tied back to the learning
objective and gave me a clear picture of student understanding.
