2. **Preparation of Soil**
- Loosening and turning of soil is called tilling or ploughing.
- Tools: Plough, Hoe, Cultivator.
3. **Sowing**
- Selecting healthy seeds.
- Methods: Broadcasting, Seed drill.
4. **Adding Manure and Fertilizers**
- Manure: Natural; Fertilizers: Chemical.
- Fertilizers increase crop yield but cause pollution.
5. **Irrigation**
- Supply of water to crops at right intervals.
- Traditional methods: Moat, Chain pump, Dhekli, Rahat.
- Modern methods: Sprinkler system, Drip irrigation.
