Contribution of Indian Freedom Fighters

1. Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi, also known as the Father of the Nation, played a pivotal role in India's freedom struggle

through non-violence and satyagraha. He led major movements like the Dandi March, Quit India Movement,

and Non-Cooperation Movement.



2. Subhas Chandra Bose

Known for his radical approach, Bose formed the Indian National Army (INA) and gave the slogan "Give me

blood, and I will give you freedom." He sought help from Germany and Japan to fight British colonial rule.



3. Jawaharlal Nehru

The first Prime Minister of independent India, Nehru was a key figure in the Indian National Congress. He

participated in various movements and was imprisoned multiple times for his role in the freedom struggle.



4. Bhagat Singh

A revolutionary freedom fighter, Bhagat Singh inspired Indian youth with his bravery and martyrdom. His acts

of defiance against British rule, including the Assembly bomb case, made him a national hero.



5. Rani Lakshmibai

The Queen of Jhansi, Rani Lakshmibai, played a significant role in the Revolt of 1857. Her bravery in fighting

the British forces inspired many to join the freedom struggle.



6. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Known as the Iron Man of India, Patel played a key role in integrating princely states into the Indian Union.

He was a senior leader of the Indian National Congress and supported Gandhi's non-violent methods.



7. Bal Gangadhar Tilak

Tilak was among the first leaders to demand Swaraj (self-rule). He declared, "Swaraj is my birthright and I

shall have it." He used newspapers and festivals to unite people against British rule.
