Bed making is an important nursing procedure to arrange different types of bed for patients to ensure comfort
and useful position for a particular disease condition.
Indications CONSIDERATIONS
In order to ensure a germ free atmosphere for a Nursing Interventions (pre, intra, post)
bed ridden patient it is compulsory to replace bed
sheets in different intervals. leave the pillow under the head while changing the
- bed sheet may get wet during feeds sheet, Cover the body of patient with a linen sheet
- spillage leads to wetting the bed sheet or a blanket, If it's an electronic bed, bring it up to
-spillage of urine while changing catheters, need a position that wouldn't hurt your back, help your
change of bed sheets. patient to roll over to the other side of the bed.
Make sure that the railings is firm and steady in the
other side to prevent fall.

Bed bath has an important role in patient hygiene
and prevent cross infection in a hospital set up.

risk of infection wash, rinse, dry the foot and leg
Repeat the same on the other leg
