Social stratification is defined as groups of people being divided based upon
power, education and wealth. Religion, education and economics is the different ways social
stratification can vary in one's life. Being that across the world society's values are different is
what makes social stratification vary, it can change from city to city or county to county. Class,
feudal, caste and slavery are the four systems of stratification. Ranking people based upon their
economic position is how the class system functions, this is how there is more mobility within
the system. It also allows for people to move up or down based upon their economic position in
life. The feudal system is based upon where people are born and what or who they are born to or
into so it can relate closely to the class system, say someone was born to a higher class this
means that they would be ranked higher in life. People born into a lower class family may
struggle to move up in life or might even have to stay in the same position due to how hard it is
to grow. The slavery system would have to be the polar opposite of the class system, this is
