Developmental Disabilities
There are so many disabilities that different individuals have in the world, but today intellectual
disabilities are what will be discussed. This type of disability can cause issues with brain functioning and
adapting behavior. Therefore, an individual can have problems with learning, leadership, problem-
solving, and critical thinking which can cause many issues in a social environment. This disability can be
started until the age of 18 or possibly older (Intellectual Disability, 2024). Therefore, this disability can be
caused by possible inheritance, premature birth, and medical conditions, but this type is usually a
process to diagnose mainly because of different behavior challenges.
Secondly, there are a couple of good practices that help with this type of disability if the child
is in school or has a higher grade the teacher can help the parent plan an individualized education
program this helps address the learning techniques that can help achieve certain education goals.
Parents must help get the child or children on track. Also, another program that could be used is
behavioral interventions this can help the individual cope with their behavior and find ways to
strategize on how to focus on their positive skills, training, and cognitive thinking (Evidence-based
