Definitions:
Communism – a system in which the government controls the economy and in which there is
only one political party.
E.g.The USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics)
Capitalism – an economic system based on competition and private ownership.
E.g, The West (United States, Britain and their allies)
Democracy –a government that represents the people’s interests and is accountable to
them; it is voted into power by the people
Republic – an independent country with an elected leader as president
