Esthetics Course Requirements - ANS750 hours
Eligibility for exam of Esthetic students - ANS750 hours of the esthetics cirriculum
Applications for examination must be accompanied by - ANSstudent registration
certificate, a photograph of the student, and the $25 initial license fee
Instructor Course Requirements - ANS500 hours
School Fees - ANSAll fees contractually owed by an applicant to a esthetician school
from which they graduated must be paid before applying for an examination
Cancellation of any student who fails to appear for their scheduled examination with out
proper notification will be required upon reapplication - ANSto submit a $25
administrative fee.
Proper notification of cancellation - ANScancellation must be done 7 days prior to the
scheduled examination or in the case of an emergency 24 hours prior to the scheduled
examination
Students must bring a mannequin - ANShead must be styled for comb out to the
examination. Students will be required to perform further practical work on the
mannequin during the examination.
School attendance - ANSstudents may not earn more than 48 hours a week
Schools are required to provide to the board the names of students - ANSwho drop from
their rolls within 30 days and to provide the number of hours earned during the student's
attendance
All applicants must wear - ANSsolid black or white colored garments as outlined while
testing.
Students shall not be allowed to perform any professional esthetician work for which the
student - ANSdoes not possess a license, and will forfeit all hours completed in beauty
school.
, Student hours shall become invalid - ANSsix years after the date the hours were earned
A shop owner shall not be required to employ a manager, if absent from his shop more
than two days per week during periods of vacation or sickness - ANSas long as it does
not exceed 8 weeks annually
Tools - ANSall tools and implements that come in direct contact with a client shall be
sterilized, sanitized or disposed of after each use.
Storage - ANSNew or sanitized and cleaned tools and implements shall be cleaned
after each client
Blood Spill Kit - ANSmust be available in every salon and in every school
No salon shall be established or maintained in a home or in connection with a business
where - ANSfood is handled unless a separate room is provided therefore.
Any salon in a home or in connection with a place where food is handled shall be
seperated - ANSfrom the living quarters or place where food is handled by walls or
other permanent structures. There shall be separate outside entrances leading to the
salon and to the living quarters or any place where food is handled.
Hair dressing shall not be performed in any beauty shop or salon unless the following
items are available - ANScontainer for soiled linens; sterilizer or sanitizers for each
occupied station
Inspectors and employees of the board are entitled to enter any premises licensed by
the board - ANSto interview any person present at the facility and to examine all work
records pertaining to the esthetician profession during the regular business hours of the
facility
Inspectors may issue citations for violations and impose and collect fines for any
violation of the Cosmetology Act or any rule or regulation - ANSadopted by the board
provided that the licensee waives his or her right to a formal hearing before the board.

Special permit of microdermabrasion can be issued to - ANSlicensed esthetician who
