regulations adopted by the board. Nothing in this sections authorizes PTs to prescribe

medications.



Certification to Penetrate Tissues for the Purposes of Neuromuscular Evaluation ✔✔a PT may,

upon specified authorization from a surgeon perform tissue penetration for the purpose of

evaluating neuromuscular performance. Provided the PT is certified by the board to perform

tissue penetration and the PT does not develop or make diagnostic or prognostic interpretation of

the data obtained.



Patient Records ✔✔- PT shall document his evaluation, goals, treatment plan, and summary of

treatment in patient record.

- Shall document care actually provided

- Shall sign the patient record legibly

- Shall maintain records for a period no less than 7 years following discharge. If the patient is

under 18 the records will be maintained for one year following the 18th birthday, in any case no

less than 7 years.
