-has a detectable displacement in space through time (behavior is movement)
-results in measurable change in at least one aspect of the environment (affects
environment in some way)

What test is used to determine if a movement is behavior? - ANSWER -the
dead man's test--if a dead man can do it, then it is not a behavior
(ex. falling down--not a behavior)

-temporal extent: duration of the behavior
-repeatability: how often that behavior occurs

How is a response different from behavior? - ANSWER -Behavior: comprises
(contains) a group of responses that share certain physical
dimension or function (the same function on the environment)
ex. a group of hand flaps that form the hand flapping behavior

, ex. behavior of eating is made up of multiple responses like chewing and
swallowing--but they all share the same function or purpose
-Response: a specific instance of behavior
-an action of an organism's effector

What is the key attribute of the definition of response class? - ANSWER -a
group of responses that have the same functional effect on the environment
-refers to the group of responses that have the same function, regardless of the
form
-EX. verbally request, cry, point→ get food

What is response topography? - ANSWER -physical shape or form (hand claps)
-same form may produce different effects, and different forms may produce the
same effects
-EX. cry→ get food, or removal of instruction

Where does behavior occur? - ANSWER -in an environment
-environment and stimuli must be independent of behavior
-it must be a physical environment in which the organism or organism's effector
