ATV - ANSWER Abbreviation for All-Terrain Vehicle, which is any
motorized vehicle, traveling on low pressure tires, having a seat to be straddled
by the operator and handlebars for steering.

Axle - ANSWER The drive rod on which the rear wheels turn.

BONE-C - ANSWER A way to remember the pre-start routine. B--Brake (set
parking brake). O--On (fuel and ignition on), N-- Neutral, E-- Engine Stop

Brake Reach - ANSWER How well or poorly a rider's hand and fingers fit the
handles and operate the brake levers.

Brakes - ANSWER The part of the ATV that allows the operator to slow down
or stop the machine.

Choke - ANSWER Device that alters the mixture of gasoline and air supplied
to the engine to provide the gassy mixture required for cold engine start-up.

Clutch - ANSWER Device that momentarily disconnects the spinning gears

brain injury in an accident.

Ignition Switch - ANSWER A keyed switch on some ATVs that must be in the
on position before the ATV can be started.

Off-road or Off-highway Vehicle - ANSWER Any vehicle, including ATVs,
that is restricted by law from operating on public roads reserved for general
motor vehicle traffic.

Parking Brake - ANSWER A mechanism located on the handlebar that holds
the brake so the ATV cannot roll.

Rider-active - ANSWER Vehicles in which the rider's movements have a lot of
influence on performance.
