INTRODUCTION
InoDev is a fast-growing gaming studio that involves maintaining both offline single
player game and online multiplayer game. As an IT support specialist, my role is to
evaluate the IT system support and management needs to enhance the user experi-
ence in gaming and to minimise the systems downtime. Specifically, I will be elabor-
ating these two different types of organisations on what the job roles required, how
the services or the network tools work in these two fields and how manageable they
are. The key part of this report is comparing these two IT systems and how they
meet client requirements. Additionally, to start with this report I will be analysing the
purpose and how required the safe working practices are. This report will provide es-
sential details such as safe working practices, comparison of both the offline and on-
line systems, ways to improve the system, distinct roles in the IT system and more.
2. THE PURPOSE OF MANAGING AND SUPPORTING THE IT SYSTEM
The main purpose of managing and supporting the system guarantees an effective
and smooth IT infrastructure. It enables the system to run seamlessly without any
disruption, maintaining a steady system that allows the users to perform the tasks ef-
,fectively. The system ensures certain users such as participants like staffs or players
and administrators to have access to services such as the databases and the soft-
ware servers to easily use the system. Overall, InoDev supports offline and online
games, allowing users to easily interact with the services and tools and attain a
smooth gaming experience.
Once InoDev enables a new system to the organisation, it ensures to have a right
access to the users while also securing the system safe. Staff administrators have
the access to control such as developers, players and designers to enable access
based on what their roles require them to do. For example, staffs fix the issues, cre-
ate, and update games to enhance the user experience and helps maintain the IT
system. Administrators also take control of the sensitive area such like managing the
databases and server, allowing to secure the data and limit the number of unauthor-
ised accesses. The purpose of supporting and managing the IT system is security;
they ensure security in system, allowing the staffs to monitor any upcoming threats in
the servers. This enables the system to fix the potential threat such as bugs and
downtimes. To resolve this issue, the system needs to be updated frequently ensur-
ing significant improvements and smooth operation.
Safe working practices are when they have particular procedures and rules to enable
the health and safety of the staff and employees in the workplace. The whole pur-
pose of allowing safe working practices in workplace is to prevent the organisation
from any damages or injuries. This includes maintaining an organised workspaces or
any equipment, while also ensuring the employees to train how to the equipment's
correctly and should be aware of any potential hazards, dangers and how to respond
to emergencies. The safe working practices improves productivity to lead a safe en-
vironment for the organisation.
1. Additionally, safe working practices provide security in the system to provide a
protect sensitive information, this can potentially prevent the system form the
unauthorised access or any upcoming threats. It involves creating strong
passwords, that only the authorised users can use to access the critical areas
of the system.
, 2. Safe working practices require data protection in their system such as setting
up backups if any loss of files takes place it recovers those critical data. The
backup files will store offside or in the cloud to securely store the information
and prevent them with potential threats. Backup usually takes place by acci-
dently deleting files, cyber-attacks and can be restored quickly with limited
downtime.
2.1. SECURE LOGIN PROCEDURES
Secure login procedures are one of the safe working practices that contain several
methods to verify the user's identity. Using different methods will benefit the system
as it reduces the risk of identity theft. Organisations like InoDev will require tools
such as login procedures because they protect the system from potential data
breaches and unauthorised access. This maintains the data from any danger while
also enhancing user’s trust with their personal information. The company will ensure
access is provided only to authorised users with the players' internal data and sensit-
ive information.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) – This is a tool that re-
quires multiple steps for the account login process, allow-
ing the users to provide more information than just pass-
word. This process adds an extra layer of protection be-
cause of the multi-step process. This can include biomet-
rics, fingerprint, passwords and more. This tool will bene-
fit the organisation to prevent the unauthorised access
form data theft. It also gives the awareness of how im-
portant is to secure the login procedures. This prompts
the employees to create more stronger passwords, know-
ing that it enables extra layers of security hence it helps
reduces the number of unauthorised.
Role-Based Access Control – This assigns the staffs to
give permissions to the users based on what their role is,
in the organisation. It helps protect sensitive data from
the modification, addition, or deletion. This is also know-
