Postural Analysis - ANSWER-quick look overs, comprehensive evaluations, &
movement analysis. An easy test is to evaluate how a client is positioned in each planes
of movement (horizontal-sagittal-vertical)
Multi Planer Analysis - ANSWER-Examines differences in the body: Front-to-back, side-
to-side, top-to-bottom, looks for inconsistencies that indicate tight, imbalanced, and
inavtice muscles.
Anterior Deviations - ANSWER-Knees in, Knees out, Feet in, Feet out
DEXA (Dual Energy Xray Absorpitomerty) - ANSWER-Most accurate test for measuring
bone mass. Can determine the amount of fat on a single limb.
Bioelectrical Impedance - ANSWER-Electrodes are attached to your body, usually wrist
or ankle.
Skin Fold Calipers - ANSWER-Method of body fat testing. Lange being instrument of
choice
Body Fat Female Testing Sites - ANSWER-Tricep, suprailium, & thigh
Laterial Deviations - ANSWER-Arms forward, head forward, excessive forward lean,
excessive lordosis, rounding of the lower back
Posterior Deveations - ANSWER-Shoulder elevation, weight shift asymmetrical, foot
flattens, heels rise
Cardiovascular Endurance - ANSWER-Graduated Exercise Test, Harvard Step, 1.5 mile
run, Loaded Induced Pulse Rate, 40 yard dash, Rep Max, Push ups, abdominal Curls
Graduated Exercise Test - ANSWER-Most tested component in any program. Evaluates
the heart, lungs, and circulatory system.
Harvard Step Test - ANSWER-Starts with a step that is 12" high. Step up and down at
rate of 120 bpm for 3 mins. At immediate end heart rate is taken for no more than 10
seconds. Client is rested and heart rate is taken after 1 min.
