Interpersonal/emotional intelligence (from the PowerPoint)
o Interpersonal – the ability to understand and be aware of other people’s intentions,
thoughts, motivation, or desires; Also the ability to work well and get along with
others.
o Emotional – the ability to understand and manage your own emotions, as well as
recognize and influence the emotions of those around you.
Gardner’s multiple intelligence theory – the theory that intelligence consists of eight
distinct capacities:
o Linguistic – ability to learn, understand, and use written and spoken language.
o Mathematical-logical – ability to analyze problems an information logically and to
perform mathematical operations.
o Musical – ability to perform, compose and appreciate musical patterns
o Bodily-kinesthetic – ability to use one’s body parts to solve problems or create
products.
o Special – ability to think about and solve problems in a three-dimensional space.
