The Fun They Had
Isaac Asimov wrote The Fun They Had. The story happens in the future when
schools and books are online and digital. A robot teacher teaches students
instead of a human one. The story is about two kids named Margie and
Tommy. They live in a world where computers run everything, and students

Next, they read about a school where humans were teachers. Margie hated
school, but she was interested to know that people taught there. She only saw
robots teaching at her school. She also hated her school because it was next
to her bedroom and she had no classmates. The robot teacher always gave
her too much homework.
Margie and Tommy had a virtual classroom with electronic devices, robots,
etc. Their lessons showed up on a computer screen. The robot teacher taught
them different subjects like math, science, etc. Once, Margie's mother called
the County Inspector to fix the robot teacher because it wasn't working right.
He fixed the big black screen fast. But Margie was unhappy because she
wanted more time off from school. She hated feeding homework and test
papers into the robot teacher with a punch code.
