, Executive Summary
Hydrogen car are gaining more interest in the world the last decades. Hydrogen is a high potential
technology to reduce the CO2 emissions worldwide, which in necessary to reach the Paris climate
goals. This report will give us more information about the development of this energy technology. In
the end of the tis analysis we will an advice to the company Holthausen, if they should continue
developing hydrogen cars. The tis analysis contains the following:

Firstly, the technology itself was investigated. In this chapter there is a clear explanation of hydrogen
cars of how they work and what there advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, there is some
information given on the chosen company. The entrepreneurial activities show how many
companies are busy with the future of hydrogen cars and gives us a little insight of how many
interest there is in hydrogen cars in the future. Also, there is looked at the amount of
entrepreneurial activities and if there are enough to make a tis analyse.

Knowledge development and knowledge exchange shows how much information there is to find
about hydrogen cars. Publications about hydrogen cars lays around 10.000 different ones. The
number of research projects indicate that the knowledge on the technology is rising and the
technology is seen as an important factor for in the future. Together with the rising number of
publications the knowledge development is positive for the TIS analysis.

In the guidance of the search the research of how the technology works continued. And it becomes
clear that there were different types hydrogen cars. Also, the drivers of change are mentioned. The
drivers of change are that cars have to become CO2 neutral and this is possible with the hydrogen
fuel cell technology. Also, there are less moving mechanical parts and the resource is available over
the whole world.

Market formation shows the future of hydrogen cars what is looking very promising. It shows the
expected demand and supply for hydrogen cars in the future. Also, it is looking at the regulation and
subsidies which can effect of the future of hydrogen cars. Resource mobilisation showed the
financial resources and the human capital. The financial part showed that there are many
investments going on by big auto manufactures, like Audi and BMW. Further there are investments
projects going on. And the human capital shows that there are many studies available that educate
potential workers. Advocacy coalitions shows the support that is given from several companies to
hydrogen energy/cars. For example, car manufacture Toyota who is making hydrogen cars and
saying it is the future. Also, there are different kinds of political support from different countries in
Europe and outside of Europe.

The advice that we will give to Holthausen is to keep developing the technology and focus on
creating a competitive advantage over the competitors. The future demand of CO2 neutral cars will
probably increase and therefor the supplies of Holthausen have to be sufficient. They could do a
request for subsidies for developing their hydrogen cars, so they don’t have to invest all of their own
money.
