, Introduction
There has been an increased use of technology in the classroom over the last 15 years,
and it will likely continue to evolve. When used appropriately, technology has the potential
to enhance the learning experience by opening accessibility and providing immediate
feedback leading to a steeper learning curve. My research poses the question: What is the
benefit of technology-based education for literacy development among students? The
following questions form the basis of this research:
1. What is technology-based education, and how is it different from traditional education?
2. What is modern literacy?
3. How does technology benefit the current generation of learners by developing literacy
skills?
4. Is there a need for educational reform for the younger generation, and what is the
justification for making that decision?
5. How are educators implementing their knowledge of software in their classrooms?
6. Is technology-based education accessible to students?
7. How does literacy development relate to the future, and to students’ employment
prospects?
