Vision and Goals- teaching and learning - ANS -Analyze multiple sources of information and data about current practice, slects appropriate goals based on data, analyzes data to write a school goal or determines if vision and goals are appropriate, implements a vision and goals with high, measurable expectations, assures alignment of vision and goals to school, local, state, and federal policies, discusses and asks critical questions of key stakeholders about the purpose of education Vision and Goals- Shared commitment to implement the vision and goals - ANS -Engages staff and community members with diverse perspectives to implement the vision and achieve goals, develops shared commitments and responsibilities among staff and community to carry out goals, build consensus, determins and implements effectice strategies to assess and monitor progress towards vision, communicates that vision, implements and stewards that vision Vision and Goals -continous improvement towards the vision and goals - ANS -Uses data to conduct a needs analysis, uses data-driven decision making, research, and best practices, indentifies and addresses barriers to achieving goals, implements effective strategies to facilitate change, engages stakeholders, aligns planning, changes strategies to meet goals, aligns all resources, including technology, monitors evidence and revises plans as needed Teaching and Learning- building a professional culture - ANS develops a sharedunderstanding of and commitement to high standards, closing acheivement gaps, guides and supports job-embedded, standards-based PD to meet the needs of all students, models openness to change and collaborative processes, create structures, procedures, and relationships that provide time and resources for collaboration, safe environment for staff to examine their own beliefs about teaching and learning, provide ongoing feedback to teachers using data and evaluation methods to improve student learning, guides and monitors teachers PD plans, Teaching and Learning- rigorous curriculum and instruction - ANS develops shared understanding of rigorous curriculum and standards-based instructional programs, workds with teams, inclduing teachers and others to analyze student work and monitor student progress, review and monitor curricular and instructional programs, provide guidance, assure alignment of curriculum and instruction to content standards, assist teachers with differentiated instruction, technology, resources, ensure diverse needs of all students are met, challenging curriculum, indentifies and uses rigorous research and data-based strategies, and practices, conduct frequent classroom and school visits Teaching and Learning- assessment and accountability - ANS - Uses assessment and accountability systemts to improve the quality of teaching and learning, analyze multiple sources of data, including formative and summative assessments, to evaluate student learning, effective teaching, and program quality, interprets and communicates data about progress toward vision, supports teachers in development of classroom assessments that are frequent, rigorous, and aligned with school's curriculum Education System- Professional influence - ANS -Facilitates constructive discussion with the school community about local, state, and federal laws, policies, regulations, and statutory requirements, develops relationships with stakeholders and policymakers to identify, respond to, and influence issues, trends, and potential changes that affect the context and conduct of education, advocates for quity and adequacy in providing for students and families' needs to meet educational expectations and policy requirements Education System- Managing local decisions within the larger educational policy environment - ANS -Communicate data about educational performance to infrom decision-making and improve policy, communicate effectively with key decision makers to improve public udnerstanding of local, state, and federal laws, policies, regulations, and statutory requriements, advocates for excellence and equity in education
